Congratulations to Jonathan Coyles, MLB’s Vice President of Drug, Health and Safety Programs, for being named the recipient of the Taylor Hooton Foundation's Legacy Award. Jon accepted the honor at the Foundation’s Ninth Annual All-Star Gala on Saturday, April 13, at Forty|50 in Addison, Texas.The Legacy Award, presented since 2015, recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to the fight against Appearance and Performance Enhancement Drug use. Jon is responsible for overseeing all aspects of MLB’s various drug prevention and treatment programs and also plays a key role in collective bargaining negotiations with the MLBPA, including the annual review and update of the Joint Drug Programs and other league-wide substance use and player health and safety initiatives. In addition to his work at MLB, Jon serves as the Board Chair for the Partnership for Clean Competition, is a frequent lecturer on effective anti-doping policies and deterrence efforts and serves as an adjunct professor at the University at Buffalo School of Law.Jon is the latest MLB or Club recipient, joining MLB’s Commissioner Emeritus Bud Selig and Yankees president Randy Levine, who received the awards in 2015 and 2020, respectively.

In celebration of Jackie Robinson Day, and in honor of Jackie’s commitment to service, MLB employees volunteered to support Foster Love - Together We Rise in their efforts to empower youth in the foster care system. Congratulations to Uzma Rawn, Senior Vice President, Global Corporate Partnerships, on being selected to the Sports Business Journal “Forty Under 40” Class of 2024. This is Rawn’s second selection to the prestigious Forty Under 40 list after earning her first selection in the Class of 2020 at age 34. The annual Forty Under 40 list recognizes young leaders across sports for their accomplishments and contributions to the industry. Rawn, 38, oversees all aspects of Baseball’s global corporate partnerships team, which is made up of corporate sales, partnership activation and integrated marketing for sponsorships with MLB (internationally and domestically), Minor League Baseball and Little League International. Rawn also works closely with other senior leadership at MLB to align goals and priorities across our central office and to collaborate on league-wide initiatives.

Today we welcomed 46 high school students from Cristo Rey New York High School. The students spent the morning learning from Office Operations & Facilities, Community Affairs, Marketing, Communications, Department for Investigations, Virtual Reality & Gaming, and Replay Operations. The program was tailored toward empowering and educating the students about the business side of MLB and how it ties into the game, as well as a focus on career readiness and their path to college. Four Cristo Rey students who intern at MLB as part of their Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP) had the unique opportunity to present to their peers as part of the Communications group. #MLBTogether #Baseball #OneBaseball
